Overview: The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a growing department looking for dynamic professionals who are eager to help implement the St.
Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.
Summary: GPM is seeking a talented and enthusiastic team member to fill the role of Program Specialist for the Global Infectious Diseases Program.
The Program Specialist will be responsible for assisting with project design, coordinating logistics, and supporting different phases of project implementation to ensure the success of the project portfolio.
This position will support the team's efforts to develop methods, tools, and programmatic structure to sustain the project portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have prior work experience in similar positions in a healthcare environment.
The Program Specialist will be responsible for: Providing administrative support for the project portfolio Developing and disseminating communications to attain project goals and facilitate productive collaborations Tracking program progress, adoption, or performance and provide ongoing reports to leadership/program sponsors Tracking and analyzing data to identify trends and make recommendations Updating project timelines and deliverables using project implementation trackers Managing events and meetings, including logistical support and production of materials Providing logistical support, including scheduling and communications, for new initiatives and collaboration opportunities Implementing departmental tools to manage communications with different stakeholders (CRM, Zoom/Teams/Webex, Global Alliance Community (Portal), spreadsheets, etc) Creating templates, tracking progress, and automating reports for the different projects using Smartsheet and other project management tools Coordinating trips and agendas for visitors/students Assisting faculty with specific logistical needs, special projects, and other collaborative initiatives Participate in the design, organization and implementation of workshops, and documenting follow-up actions Supporting program by identifying process improvement opportunities; Execute program initiatives Performing other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Shows a general understanding of the customer needs and program objectives Exhibits basic grasp of project management process like scoping, scheduling, milestones, reporting, tools (MS project, etc.
), and templates to support program planning and coordination Strong interpersonal and communication skills Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities Ability to carry out broad assignments with minimal supervision Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills Ability to handle sensitive matters in a confidential and professional manner Proficiency in Microsoft Office product suite Cultural sensitivity is a must Proficiency in a second language is desired All candidates must submit a cover letter to be considered for the position.
