Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as contracts, briefs, and pleadings
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters
- Prepare and file court documents and other legal forms
- Assist with the management of legal case files and calendars
- Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling appointments and managing correspondence
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant is preferred
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation
- Proficiency in using document management systems such as Lexis-Nexis or similar software
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of contract law and litigation procedures is a plus
