Position Summary Works under the direction of a Supervisor and/or Manager and is responsible for courtroom activities, within a courtroom, on a daily basis for the judge.
Pay Grade: 44 Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education Minimum Qualifications 100.
00% - 1.
Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing or statistical work; AND 2.
High school diploma or possess a GED.
3.
PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Provides courtroom assistance as related to daily clerical activities within each courtroom.
2.
Records case dispositions and court orders; arranges for payment of fees.
3.
Examines legal documents submitted to the court for adherence to court or law procedures.
4.
Prepares docket or calendar of cases to be called, entering decisions and continuances in a computer program.
5.
Provides information to various state and county officials.
6.
Enters various court information into computer; edit and delete same.
7.
Secures information for Judges, contacts attorneys and litigants for court and instructs parties when to appear in court.
8.
Relieves courtroom personnel, within the courtroom, as required.
9.
Administers oath to witnesses, attorneys and litigants.
10.
Performs other related duties as required or directed.
KSA's KSAs - 1.
Knowledge of courtroom procedures.
2.
Knowledge of various legal documents issued by the court.
3.
Ability to establish and maintain a system of files.
4.
Ability to work with court officials.
5.
Must have good organizational skills.
6.
Ability to write legibly on legal documents and court files.
7.
Ability to have good communication skills and organizational skills.
8.
Ability to perform accurate math computations.
