Position Summary
Works under the general supervision of a supervisor to coordinate and assist with the activities of the assigned courtroom or court related support network.
Pay Grade: 44

Minimum Qualifications

Four (4) years of experience in appropriate clerical, bookkeeping, data processing, or statistical work; AND
2.
High school diploma or GED.
3.
Court-related experience preferred.
4.
PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.
Provides courtroom assistance as it relates to daily clerical activities within each courtroom.
2.
Records case dispositions, court orders, and arranges for payment of fees.
3.
Examines legal documents submitted to the court for adherence to court or law procedures.
4.
Prepares docket or calendar of cases to be called, entering decisions, and continuances in a computer program.
5.
Provides information to various state and county officials.
6.
Enter a variety of court information into computer; edit, and delete same.
7.
Secures information for Chancellor, contact attorneys and litigants for court, and instructs parties when to appear in court.
8.
Relieves courtroom personnel, within the courtroom, as required.
9.
Administers oath to witnesses, attorneys, and litigants.
10.
Performs other related duties as required or directed.

KSAs - 1.
Knowledge of courtroom procedures.
2.
Knowledge of various legal documents issued by the court.
3.
Ability to establish and maintain a system of files.
4.
Ability to work with court officials.
5.
Ability to display good communication and organizational skills.
6.
Ability to write legibly on legal documents and court files.
7.
Ability to perform accurate math computations.
Special Requirements
1.
May be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends on a rotational basis.
2.
May be required to work in the 24-Hour Office.
