A Brief Overview
Coordinates inventory ordering, returns, and filing/record keeping functions to ensure compliance with standard practices for preparing purchase orders and the handling of discrepancies and returns.
What will you do?
Coordinates purchasing and inventory procedures within Supply Distribution to ensure compliance with standard best practices.
• Reviews and process manual purchase orders relative to the JIT distribution manual par level inventories.
• Ensures quantities entered are accurate, verifies stock numbers, and ensures data accuracy and integrity.
• Acts as the liaison with hospital departments regarding product information, stock outs, par levels, returns, and other customer service related issues.
• Verifies and signs for incoming supplies.
Organizes and maintains proper documentation, logs and records relating to inventory control and record keeping in accordance with the hospital's polices and procedures.
• Acts as liaison with purchasing department and the distribution vendor regarding product changes and backorder issues in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Monitors the transmission of EDI orders to the distribution vendor in accordance with the daily ordering schedule.
• Performs data entry with necessary documentation and ensure all departmental issues, transfers, and patient charges are processed in a timely fashion and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Answers the phones and coordinate stat orders and request with appropriate Distribution Specialist in accordance with established performance standards.
Coordinates and communicates product conversions and recalls with Supply Distribution staff.
Interacts and works collaboratively with other departments, medical/hospital staff, and outside representatives or companies in accordance with established policies.
Maintains positive working relationships and provides information and assistance as required.
Provides research and administrative support to special projects, preparing data, reports, and follow-up as needed.
Assists in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
Maintains safety and security procedures.
Maintain MSDS files.
Shares responsibilities and provides coverage for relief and absences within Supply Distribution as required.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; demonstrated ability to type 20 wpm Required
Minimum 2 years experience of inventory and distribution experience in a healthcare environment Required
