* - Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry trends.
_*Client Relationship Management*_ * - Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, event planners, and decision-makers in the convention and hospitality industry.
* - Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and ensure that catering services align with their event requirements.
_*Proposal and Contract Negotiation*_ * - Oversee the preparation of detailed proposals and contracts for catering services, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
* - Negotiate terms and conditions to achieve mutually beneficial agreements while adhering to the convention center's policies.
* Collaboration with Operations * - Work closely with catering and event operations teams to ensure seamless execution of contracted services.
* - Communicate client expectations and details to the operations team to guarantee the successful delivery of catering services.
_*Budget Management*_ * - Develop and manage the catering sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to maximize profitability.
* - Monitor financial performance against targets and implement corrective actions as needed.
_*Marketing and Promotions*_ * - Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns to increase awareness of catering services.
* - Represent the convention center at industry events and trade shows to promote catering services and generate leads.
_*Reporting and Analysis*_ * - Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback for senior management.
* - Utilize data analytics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall sales effectiveness.
*Requirements of a Catering Director of Sales:* * -Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
* -Strong background in hotel sales is preferred.
* - Proven experience in catering sales, preferably in a convention center or large-scale event venue.
* - Strong leadership and team management skills.
* - Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* - In-depth knowledge of the convention and hospitality industry.
* - Ability to travel as needed to attend industry events and meet with clients.
