Founded in 2008, TSC is the Mid-South’s first professional, classical theatre, education, training, and outreach organization.
TSC produces in all four areas year-round in its own facility at 7950 Trinity Road in Memphis and throughout the tri-state area.

TSC operates in its 18,000 sq/ft facility with an operating budget over one million dollars.
*ABOUT THE POSITION* The Manager of Tennessee Shakespeare Company’s Education/Outreach Program administers activities that take place for school-age children in traditional settings, including activities that happen during the school day, after school, and in the summer, as well as Outreach programs that serve people of all ages in non-traditional settings (including TSC’s work in Memphis’ Juvenile Justice system and V.

The position reports to immediate supervisor Stephanie Shine as the Director of Outreach.
The position is responsible for continuing the programmatic success for the balance of current FY24 (through June) and for helping to schedule programs for FY25.
The position communicates with and markets TSC’s programs to area schools, groups, teachers, parents, service organizations, and students.
The position requires strong interpersonal communication and scheduling skills, with experience in not-for-profit and/or for-profit management.
Experience with the Education industry, with Engagement efforts, and with the plays of William Shakespeare and theatre are very helpful and encouraged, but not necessary.
The position, which has an office at TSC, is part-time, working 24 hours per week, Mondays through Fridays, with flexible hours between 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
*FY24 SPECIFIC DUTIES* The Education/Outreach Program Manager liaisons between TSC and schools/groups/organizations and markets the following TSC programs: · Romeo and Juliet Project (RJP) and Tabor Stage Matinees · Playshops and Residencies · Summer/Winter Camps · Student Matinees of Mainstage (Tabor Stage) productions (_Hamlet_) · Education Touring shows · FY25 Education programming · Creative Aging Programming for Seniors Note: This season’s _Macbeth Initiative_ (which includes a 90-minute performance of the touring play accompanied by teaching sessions), and our student matinees on our Tabor Stage (other than for _Hamlet _and _Romeo and Juliet_) are now retired.
*FY24 ADDITIONAL DUTIES* ● Manages administrative assistance of the Senior Actor/Teaching-Artists and Education Apprentice ● Maintains Master Education/Outreach Calendar ● Provides program data to the grant-writing team ● Updates and submits all Education/Outreach Board Reports (there will be two/three remaining in FY24) ● Manages monthly budgetary tracking and reporting, including current financial results and budget performance projections ● Provides administration for Summer training offerings for youth ● Oversees program data collection including, but not limited to, numbers of events or sessions, number of individuals served, number of schools served, and demographics ● Manages communication/booking/scheduling of TSC’s playshops/residencies/Adult training offerings ● Serves as liaison between partnering schools’ Educators and TSC’s Teaching-Artists ● Oversees collection and recording of all feedback and post-performance/camp/residency surveys ● Works with the Marketing Manager to promote and sell TSC’s Education programs to meet budgeted income goals (may need to do an email blast for remaining _Hamlet_ and _Romeo and Juliet_ student matinees) ● Adheres to budgeted marketing and program expenses ● Maintains positive relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents, and adult students.
*SALARY AND BENEFIT* ● Part-time salary for FY24 will be based on an annual part-time salary of $24,000; ● Part-time employment includes 5 paid Personal Days, plus most major holidays, with supervisor’s approval (not annually rolled over) for FY24 ending on June 30, 2024.
Personal Days expand to 10 beginning FY25 on July 1, 2024.
