The Marketing & Public Relations Specialist will provide support for the Office of External Affairs to assist with writing press releases; and assist with creating and maintaining a continuous brand presence across various media platforms.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Editorial
Proofreads all Marketing and Public Relations materials.
Provides assistance in the production of all printed materials, including graphic design.
Assist with writing and proofing press releases for media outlets, the DSCC website and social media accounts.
Assist with monitoring, creating content, updating, and developing an editorial calendar for the College’s social media accounts.
This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Snapchat.
Assist with the production and distribution of publications and advertising for the College.
Assist with updating pages on the DSCC website as needed.
Signage
Monitor the outdoor electronic signs on the Dyersburg campus and at the Jimmy Naifeh Center at Tipton County.
Develop campus event related signage as requested.
Assist in designing college billboards.
Prepares the Dean’s list, honor roll, and graduates by county for distribution each semester.
Maintains media contact files and distribution lists.
Tracks all events and required media coverage.
Clerical
Assist with administrative duties including budgets, contracts, reports, travel requests and claims, check, and purchase requests.
Serves as backup receptionist to External Affairs.
Photography
Works as a photographer at all events as assigned for day and evening programs.
Establishes a procedure for maintaining DSCC photo archives.
Downloads and prints digital photos and edits as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Sedentary: Desk work; occasional travel may be required for college or program activities.
Insignificant effort other than normal movement.
Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office settings.
At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of business English and Mathematics.
Demonstrated effectiveness in communication skills required.
Excellent writing, grammar and spelling skills.
Computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Suite or Corel.
Experience with, and proficient knowledge of digital and social media marketing.
This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Snapchat.
Graphic design experience preferred.
Minimum Requirements of Education and Experience:
High School/GED graduate.
Minimum of one to two years clerical experience required.
Preferred qualifications include an associate degree and two years of marketing or design experience.
Minimum starting pay is $28,400 annually ($14.
57 per hour).
With additional experience pay increases to a maximum of $31,000.
