Academics Afield Coordinator – TN Tech

Position: Academics Afield Coordinator - TN Tech.
The chosen candidate will begin January 2, 2024, or earlier if mutually agreed upon.
Job Responsibility: Ducks Unlimited is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time Academics Afield Coordinator at TN Tech.
The Academics Afield Coordinator will introduce students with an interest in hunting, but limited experience through workshops providing the tools, experiences, and support to help them self-identify as a hunter.
The coordinator will work closely with the Youth Engagement Coordinator, and TN Tech Faculty Advisor as part of the larger recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) initiative to increase participation in and societal understanding of hunting.
Coordinator job responsibilities include:
Recruit
Market to and recruit 12 non-traditional student participants and student coaches
Implement
Organize two workshops per semester.
Work with partners to provide an educational training, firearm training, guided hunt experience and a wild-game meal per workshop.
Coordinate with university advisor and staff to secure meeting spaces.
Evaluate
Administer evaluation tools as directed.
Draft a summary blog, video, or social media campaign for outreach after each workshop.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:
Current student available for the 2024 Spring Semester
Experience in teaching, sales and/or marketing
Experience shooting and hunting.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Must possess leadership skills, organizational skills, and work well as a team member.
Position Length & Compensation:
One semester with possible extension based on performance and program success.
~5 hours per week, up to 15 on event weeks
$15 per hour
