JOB TITLE: Marketing Director, (MEMPHIS 901 FC) About This Role: This position for a professional soccer team plays a crucial role in enhancing the team’s brand, engaging fans, and driving revenue through various marketing strategies and initiatives.
Successful execution of this role will drive ticket sales and event attendance, increase fan engagement, increase merchandise sales, generate new leads and amplify the stories of Memphis 901 FC.
You will work closely with other departments, sponsors, and community partners to enhance the team’s brand and fan experience.
Key Responsibilities: 1.
Brand Management: Develop and maintain a strong team brand identity, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.
2.
Strategic Planning: Create and implement comprehensive marketing plans that align with the team’s objectives and market trends.
3.
Digital Marketing: Assist with the team’s digital marketing efforts, including social media, email marketing, and website management, to engage fans and drive online traffic and sales.
Lead in the creation, optimization and tracking of digital advertising campaigns across channels including search, display, social, and audio streaming.
4.
Fan Engagement: Develop innovative ways to enhance fan experience and engagement, both on game days and through off-season activities.
Spearhead regular surveys and market research to support strategic marketing decisions.
5.
Sponsorship and Partnerships: Work with the sponsorship department to activate and leverage sponsorships, ensuring mutual benefit for the team and sponsors.
6.
Advertising and Promotions: Plan and execute advertising campaigns and promotional activities to increase ticket sales and merchandise revenue.
7.
Market Research: Conduct market research to understand fan demographics, preferences, and trends, using insights to inform marketing strategies.
8.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including sales, community relations, and operations, to ensure cohesive efforts and maximized impact.
9.
Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum return on investment.
10.
Reporting and Analysis: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing strategies, adjusting plans as necessary for continual improvement.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, preferably in the sports industry or a related field.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing a marketing team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deep understanding of digital marketing tools and trends.
• Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies.
• Knowledge of the soccer industry and passion for the sport.
Working Conditions: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed for games and events.
