Campus Location Main Campus (Memphis, TN) Position Number L24109 Category Full-Time Faculty Department Marketing Supply Management Position Summary Position: The Consumer NeuroInsights Research Lab (C-NRL) in the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for a visiting researcher/research scientist position for the 2024-2025 academic year.
This is a 12-month temporary position.
Hiring is contingent on final budget approval.
Responsibilities: We seek to elevate the research profile of the Department of MSCM, FCBE, and The University of Memphis by inviting a visiting researcher/research scientist.
The proposed visiting researcher/research scientist will contribute to the growth of the CNRL lab in the following ways.
1) Grant Writing and Submission: The current director of the CNRL lab has brought two grants worth $250,000 in the last two years.
The visiting researcher/research scientist will work under his supervision to write and submit new grants.
2) Workshop & Training Programs: The researcher will organize a national level workshop on innovation at the Bottom of Pyramid conducted by the FIT.
The researcher/research scientist will contribute to the training programs to the interested corporate partners.
3) Case Development for the Corporate Partners: Memphis has been the headquarters of many successful companies.
The scholar/research scientist will develop the case studies on such companies.
We would like to publish and circulate the case studies for teaching in the MBA programs at international level.
C-NRL Lab Research Program – Background Description: The Consumer NeuroInsights Research Lab (C-NRL) at the Fogelman College of Business & Economics is a behavioral research and teaching facility housed in the Department of MSCM at The University of Memphis.
C-NRL features a wide range of technologies and methods associated with consumer neuroscience, including: EEG, eye tracking, automated facial expression recognition, GSR, heart rate and heart rate variability (HR/HRV), pupilometry, and implicit testing.
Core Research Values: C-NRL applies neuroscientific methods to obtain better understanding of human decision-making, emotions, and behavior in consumption and managerial contexts.
The research program promotes use of multi-method research designs that motivate new research questions and/or complement insights derived from the lab’s neuro-physiological measurement capabilities.
We place equal emphasis on rigor and relevance, aiming to produce novel research that has meaningful implications for consumers, managers, and policy makers.
As such, we welcome collaborative research opportunities with academic colleagues across disciplines as well as engagement with non-academic stakeholders of the UM community.
College: The Fogelman College of Business and Economics has become a leading business school in the Southeast.
The academic programs of the College are fully accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International), and the Fogelman College is the only major AACSB-accredited school in the Memphis metropolitan area.

Minimum Position Qualifications Qualifications: Ph.
D.
in marketing or related discipline is required.
Five years of post Ph.
D teaching and research experience is strongly desired.
