Agilix Solutions is seeking a Networking Product Manager.
This position is responsible for driving business strategy and growth acceleration for the Automation business within defined APR(s).
The Automation business includes programmable controllers, safety control systems, input/output (I/O) modules, human machine interface (HMI), industrial computers & monitors, network & security products, Core design, operations, and maintenance software, and technically supporting the IS BDL with AssetCentre, Historian, TransactionManager, and ThinManager.
This position is the distributor liaison to Rockwell Automation for defined products, providing technical, marketing, and commercial leadership for sales growth.
This position is responsible for supporting the commercial plan for the Automation business and takes a lead role in developing a competency plan to ensure support functions (inside/outside sales) are adequately prepared to maximize share gain for the Automation business in their APR(s).
The Distributor Automation Specialist is accountable for the revenue performance of the Automation business.
This role will report to the Automation Team Leader.
Responsibilities Sales Leadership Competencies: 1.
Experienced with outcome-based selling and understands industrial business drivers 2.
Capable of creating and executing business plans to exceed growth targets in business revenue and management objectives 3.
Communicates effectively in group presentations and individual conversations with internal and external audiences 4.
Collaborates with distributor and Rockwell Automation sales teams to pursue and close target account opportunities 5.
Understands the value of assigned products and able to articulate and position in competitive situations 6.
Actively listens and communicates in interpersonal interactions with strength to drive consensus and shared understanding 7.
Provides a productive voice of the customer and constructive feedback acting as trusted partner to the business units 8.
Coordinate sales teaming efforts, including other Distributor Specialists, required to identify and close account conversions and project sales opportunities Technical Competencies: 1.
Serve as domain expert around Automation business and continuously build competency 2.
Understands trends with developing standards surrounding safety / cyber security / certification / regulations and able to assist customers in applying them.
3.
Have core competency for the current technology as it relates to the assigned products.
4.
Able to identify and demonstrate technology solutions for customer applications.
5.
Ability to train internal staff on the sales and commercial aspects of assigned products, including features, benefits, applications, and markets.
6.
Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in their product and complimentary product areas.
7.
Demonstrates the ability to describe and apply the fundamentals of programmable controllers, I/O, HMI, safety, industrial computers, design software, operations software, and plant maintenance software.
Marketing Competencies: 1.
Able to analyze market conditions, develop an annual business plan and coordinate its implementation.
2.
Able to administer and implement marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from Rockwell Automation product businesses.
3.
Ability to understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share, and identify opportunities for growth.
4.
Ability to develop and implement strategies to attack competition and grow market penetration 5.
Ability to define and grow new markets for emerging product technologies.
6.
Implement and track performance of marketing, promotion programs, and product launches for Rockwell Automation’s business.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements: 1.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering –OR– equivalent combination of skills, experience or education 2.
Formal certification in Functional Safety, Network Design, or Cybersecurity is preferred.
3.
3 years of experience / knowledge applying RA’s products or equivalent competitive solutions 4.
Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, ensuring stakeholder expectations are managed appropriately 5.
Travel to customers within assigned geography will be required 6.
Good technical writing & presentation skills with ability to present RA’s value proposition to mid / large size groups of customers (external and internal) both commercially and technically.
7.
Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-motivated PRIMARY FUNCTIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL AUTOMATION SPECIALIST 1.
Shares distributed I/O responsibility and coordinates customer activities with Smart Components Specialist to ensure the right resource is engaged for given opportunities.
2.
Participate in account planning and sales strategy focusing on new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion.
Lead the sales force in promoting the solution to existing and new customers with presentations, demonstrations, technical pre-sales and post-sales support.
3.
Provides selection and design advice for most assigned products in common configurations and leverage the proper Rockwell Automation resources, as needed.
4.
Able to differentiate products/solutions from competition and promote the differences as meaningful benefits to the customer.
