JOB OVERVIEW:
Courteously and efficiently Assist Server in providing quality food and beverage service to guests according to hotel specifications.
Maintain cleanliness of the dining room tables, service areas and equipment.
Stock all wares and equipment needed for service.
REPORTS TO: Capriccio Grill General Manager, Capriccio Grill Managers and Supervisor.
SUPERVISES: N/A.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Capriccio Grill, Kitchen/Stewarding service areas.
Job involves working: under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold).
under variable noise levels.
outdoors/indoors.
around fumes and/or odor hazards.
around dust and/or mite hazards.
around chemicals.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Internal: Associates in Restaurant, Beverage, Kitchen/Stewarding, Housekeeping, Engineering, all food and outlet managers.
External: Hotel guests and visitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Must be certified in TRAC tip reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of guest and associate information and pertinent hotel data.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
Use equipment only as intended.
Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
Maintain positive associate relations at all times.
Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities in order to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas and assigned side work.
Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation and proper table set-ups.
Maintain knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations.
Complete opening side duties: Check station assignments and complete work to be done.
Maintain cleanliness of service trays.
Transport supplies from storeroom to the Restaurant as needed or assigned.
Set up trash receptacles and breakdown area as needed or assigned.
Stock supplies as laid down in departmental standards.
Prepare beverage and water stations as assigned, according to departmental standards.
Retrieve clean linen from Laundry and stock in the Restaurant.
Retrieve desert shooters from Pastry Kitchen Fold napkins if required.
Stock and polish all side station wares to the stated levels required for business.
Refill water to all guests as directed.
Serve coffee, tea and other designated non-alcoholic beverages as directed.
Remove soiled wares and other items from tables as assigned.
Transport tray from the restaurant to breakdown area; separate wares and food.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables and ensure that chairs are free of crumbs.
Place additional utensils and wares on tables as directed.
Refill non-alcoholic beverages according to standard or as directed.
Clean and reset tables immediately after guest departs.
Replenish wares in side stations throughout shift.
Complete closing duties as assigned according to side work assignment: Properly store all reusable goods.
Maintain cleanliness of service areas at all time.
Organize and maintain cleanliness of dry storage.
Restock items for next service.
Transport all dirty linen to laundry.
Secure all supplies at shift’s end.
Utilize busperson side work charts.
Leave duty only after reporting to supervisor.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS Assist in service of food as assigned.
Follow the maintenance program and cleaning schedule as assigned.
Consistently monitor or document any or all maintenance needs on work orders and/or submit to or communicate with manager.
QUALIFICATIONS Essential: Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
