We currently serve birth through 5th grade; run an infant/toddler day care center; operate a nationally-accredited, state-licensed teacher training program; and are preparing to launch a middle school in 2024.

*Role Summary*: Full-time child care staff for infants and toddlers (6 weeks through 3 years) in a summer and/or school-based Montessori program that fosters wonder, work, and love.
(Our child care is called the “Nido” community, which in Italian means “nest”.
)
*Role Information*:
* Summer program May 30 through June 24th or July 1st (some availability is required before this date for training), 7:30am to 4pm
* School year begins July 18th or 25th; regular hours anywhere between 7:15 to 4pm (childcare hours are slightly longer than regular hours to allow staff members time to drop off and pick up their children.
)
* Hourly wage of $15 to $18 per hour based on qualifications.
* Reports to child care Director/Lead Teacher
*Responsibilities Include*:
* _Supervision__*: *_Oversee the safety and well-being of children in your care.
* _Activities__*: *_Lead age-appropriate, child-centered activities, informed by the Montessori method (training provided)
* _Sanitation & Safety:_ Implement an effective cleaning plan to ensure all of the classroom areas are sanitary and safe.
When necessary, administer first-aid or CPR to children (training provided if needed).
* _Record-Keeping & Communication:_Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children’s development and routines.
Maintain excellent verbal and written communication with families about the child’s activities and development.
* _Scheduling__*: *_In collaboration with families, monitor schedules to ensure that children have enough rest, physical activity, and playtime.
* _Nutrition__*:*_ Collaborate with families to ensure that children are fed safely and on schedule.
*Qualifications and traits*
* High school diploma or GED required.
* Knowledge, experience, and confidence in caring for young children.
* Experience with or interest in learning the Montessori method of infant and toddler care.
* Warm, positive, and patient demeanor.
* Effective communication, including listening, writing, and speaking.
* Ability to multi-task while staying organized and attentive to detail.
* Flexible, takes initiative, and has a strong sense of personal ownership of responsibilities.
* Work collaboratively, with a growth mindset.
